Weekly TV News Roundup: April 27 to May 3, 2026
This week, the industry shifted from announcements to action. LG confirmed European pricing and availability dates for its full 2026 OLED and Micro RGB evo lineup. Samsung published official European prices for both its Micro RGB models and its entire OLED range in the same week. Sony officially teased the imminent launch of its True RGB Bravia 9 II and 7 II flagships. Four stories worth your attention.
1. LG 2026 OLED and Micro RGB evo: full European pricing and availability confirmed
LG has confirmed pricing and availability windows for its entire 2026 TV lineup in Germany and across Europe. On the OLED side, the G6, C6, W6 and B6 series are all priced. LG confirmed that most 2026 OLED sizes come in cheaper than their 2025 equivalents, which is a genuine shift for a brand that rarely cuts entry prices. If you are still weighing up whether to upgrade from a 2025 model, the LG C5 (2025) review on HD Televizija is a useful reference point for understanding where the previous generation sat.
On the LCD side, the Micro RGB evo MRGB96 series is LG’s premium answer to OLED, using independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs. German market pricing: 100 inches at 9,999 euros available from May, 86 inches at 8,999 euros from July, and 75 inches at 6,299 euros from July. The MRGB96 covers 100% of the BT.2020 and DCI-P3 color spaces, putting it in a different league from traditional QLED and Mini-LED panels.

2. Samsung Micro RGB R95H and R85H: first official European prices
Samsung has confirmed official European pricing for its R95H and R85H Micro RGB TV lineup. The numbers: the 55-inch R85H starts at 1,899 euros, the most accessible entry point into Micro RGB technology so far. The 65-inch R95H is priced at 4,399 euros, and the 85-inch R95H sits at 9,099 euros. Samsung’s Micro RGB architecture uses independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs behind an LCD panel, covering the full BT.2020 color space and supporting the new HDR10+ Advanced standard.
The 55-inch R85H at 1,899 euros is the number to watch. It undercuts the entry price of most premium OLED TVs while offering brightness levels and color saturation that traditional Mini-LED cannot match. FlatpanelsHD noted this week that across all brands, Micro RGB and RGB LED pricing is now making the technology genuinely accessible, with multiple 55-inch options at or below 2,000 euros. For buyers who have been waiting to see where this technology lands, the picture is now clear enough to make a decision.

3. Samsung 2026 OLED S99H and S95H officially priced for Europe
Samsung has published official European pricing for its 2026 OLED lineup. The flagship S99H series carries Samsung’s latest-generation 4K QD-OLED panel in 55, 65 and 77-inch sizes (the 83-inch S99H model uses an LG WOLED panel instead) and includes the One Connect Box. The S95H covers those sizes as well, with a 48-inch model starting at 2,299 euros in Europe, putting it directly against LG’s C6 and the Philips OLED911 at similar screen sizes. Samsung’s QD-OLED panels have consistently impressed for peak brightness and color volume, and the 2026 generation moves to new organic materials for further gains in both areas.
With Samsung’s Micro RGB (R-series) and OLED (S-series) lineups both officially priced in Europe in the same week, buyers now face a genuine choice between LCD Micro RGB and self-emissive OLED at overlapping price points. That is a new market situation, and one worth watching as the first independent lab reviews start arriving over the next few weeks. The Samsung S95D review on HD Televizija provides useful context on where Samsung’s QD-OLED technology was heading into this generation.

4. Sony officially teases True RGB Bravia 9 II and 7 II: launch expected by June
Sony has officially teased the launch of its True RGB Bravia 9 II and 7 II for late spring, targeting May or June 2026. These will be Sony’s first TVs built around independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs, competing directly with Hisense’s UR9S, Samsung’s R95H and LG’s Micro RGB evo. Early leaked specifications point to 4,000 nits peak brightness and a VESA DisplayHDR 4000 certification target for the Bravia 9 II.
The panels are sourced from TCL under the Sony-TCL joint venture confirmed earlier this year. Sony’s backlight control system runs at 66 bits total (22 bits per RGB channel), which should translate into very precise local dimming performance. Sizes are expected to include 65, 75, 85 and possibly 115 inches. For background on the technology, the Sony True RGB article on HD Televizija published last month covers the details well.
