History of cinema audio formats – excellent video with even better audio!

Coming soon to Cinema Synesthesia, a complete 3D animated history of the development of multi-channel sound in the cinema. From the first mono talkies, up through 70mm roadshow presentations in the 50s and 60s, through to today’s cutting edge positional audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the final video will track through more than 20 major formats and configurations.
The video will actually reconfigure the theatre to demonstrate the location of the various speaker channels, and include clips from the premiere movies of each formats.
